Hi peeps! I’m still pregnant but I have been offline for a couple of days due to the arrival of my Momma from UK and the breakdown of internet at home. I had a couple of false labour contractions (Braxton Hicks) and they were bloody agony so I’m definitely going to take all the drugs when it is time. Anyway, due to lack of preparation even though I said I would blog like a maniac, I thought I would blog about a Smokey Brown Eye Tutorial I did for one of my Clinique It Girl posts recently.
Smokey brown eyes are now my usual eye look these days. It took me a while to get into neutral eyeshadow but Urban Decay Naked 2 did it for me
<< Off tangent, but do you like the new Urban Decay Naked 3? To be honest, I’m a little bit over it, but I do like the rose gold swatches but doubt I’ll be splashing out on it… >>
The 4 Clinique products I used for this smokey brown eyes look are :-
1. Clinique All About Shadow Quad in 02 Jenna’s Essentials
2. Clinique All About Shadow Primer for Eyes in 02 Moderately Fair
3. Clinique Lash Power Mascara
4. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
However, you can substitute these products with whatever you have in your makeup stash
Step 1
Apply Clinique All About Shadow Primer for Eyes all over the eyelids using your finger. This will ensure that eyeshadow will remain crease free and last the whole day, as well as intensifying the pigments.
Step 2
Starting from the centre of the lid, blend Shade 2 (dark brown matte) from the Clinique All About Shadow Quad from the lash line to the crease. We don’t want any harsh lines so remember to blend in both directions.
Step 3
Pat Shade 3 (taupe) into the inner third of the eyelid and lightly blend where it meets Shade 2 to create a gradient effect. Bring it slightly above the crease to bring the colours together.
Step 4
Apply Shade 1 (white pearl) to the inner corner of the eye to open up the eyes. Line the upper and lower lash line with Shade 4 (black) and smoke it out.
Step 5
Apply lashings of mascara to top and bottom lashes. Intensify pigments if required. I also used Shade 2 on my brows.
Obviously, this is a just a BASIC smokey brown look. You can have a more INTENSE look by tightlining eyes and vamping it up with a sexy cat eye flick with black liquid eyeliner.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this basic smokey eye look and don’t forget to apply makeup to the rest of your face and pop on some lipstick to transform yourself into a hottie
